血喉石斛 Dendrobium ochraceum

 

Origin : Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos.

Stem : epiphyte, erect. The stem is cylindrical, the thickest in the middle, the two ends are relatively thin, unbranched, with multiple nodes, and is held by the leaf sheath and has several veins. It also has fibrous residual sheath, black villi on the back of the sheath, and the new stem is more obvious.

Leaves : Leaves are two rows of alternate, leathery, nearly long oval, about 4.2-8.2 cm in length, about 1.3-1.9 cm in width, unequally dichotomous at the beginning, black short villi on both sides of the leaves, new leaves are more obvious, and most of the old leaves are smooth.

Flowers : racemes with 1-3 flowers, opposite to leaves ; stem green, articulate, surrounded by several bracts, back densely black pubescent ; pedicels together with ovary ca. 3.2 cm, flowers spreading pale lemon, lip petals orange yellow ; middle sepals sublong elliptic lanceolate, with several veins, length about 2.2-2.5 cm, width about 7 mm, apex acuminate ; petals lanceolate, 5-veined, ca. 2.2-2.4 mm long, ca. 7-8 mm wide, apex acuminate ; lateral sepals suboblique lanceolate, 2.8-3cm long, 7-8mm wide, apex tail tip ; the labial lobe is 3-lobed, the lateral lobe is nearly half-heart-shaped, and both sides are covered with nearly orange-yellow fork-shaped veins. The middle lobe is nearly oval, and the edge is wavy. There are three veins extending from the base to the near top. There is a light yellow ridge at the near top, and the tip is gradually pointed and slightly curved. The pistil column and the cap are white, about 1.2-1.6 cm in length.
